“Fantastic butique hotel with a lot of atmosphere and charm. Location at the Rocks is perfect for a vacation in Sydney. Staff is charming and service minded, and are going out of their way to serve you.” – July 2016

“My stay was impromptu and hotel staff was very accommodating since my flight landed early in the morning from an overnight flight. Great location. Resources close by for Opera House, walking tours, harbor bridge and exploring the area.” – July 2016

“I love staying at the Russell and intend to return. It is in my opinion, the best place to stay in Sydney. The location couldn’t be better and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety to chose from.. The staff are very helpful and the little touches are appreciated. This is an old style hotel so if you want modern luxury it wont be for you, but for me it is perfect.” – June 2016

“The Russell is an historic boutique hotel, with a variety of rooms to suit different budgets and needs, all decorated in period style. The beds are very comfortable, fitted with sheets and blankets rather than duvets, and the rooms are serviced daily. Little touches, like the friendly welcoming staff, bathrobes in each room, chocolates on the pillow at night, make the Russell a home-from-home. The location, in the Rocks area, is within easy walking distance of Circular Quay and the Opera House, and the train station to the airport or Central railway station, as well as taxi/cab ranks.” – June 2016

“We loved how crazy quaint the Russell was. The location couldn’t have been better. Great views, super convenient to get to all transportation for anywhere you wanted to go. Right across from Opera House and Habour Bridge. The hotel is a bit of a rabbits warren of hallways and comes complete with creaky floors and wonderful character. Breakfast was included with our stay and was really good. definitely would go back” – June 2016

“Couldn’t have been happier with our hotel choice in Sydney. Hotel is in the perfect location: near the harbor, downtown, train to airport, & ferry to cruise terminals. We stayed two nights after cruise disembarkation … followed by another night a week later before returning back to the USA. During that week (while we were out at Alice Springs/Uluru, The Russel stored most of our luggage (at no extra fee). Hotel is also incredibly charming, and the included breakfast was better than expected. We will definitely stay at The Russell again next time we pop in Down Under.” – April 2016

“I would recommend the Russell Hotel to anyone who would like a get away to Sydney. It is central to everything and great value for money. I enjoyed the roof top garden and the great, friendly service provided by all the staff we meet.” – March 2016

“Really enjoyed staying at The Russell again after many years!” – December 2014

“Loved the old world style in a great location close to so many of Sydney’s attractions. Staff most helpful and friendly. Old style bedroom had a nice country “B & B” feel to it while the modern bath room was quite functional and comfortable.” – December 2014

“Great central location, near cruise ship and ferry center. Lots to do after hours with restaurants near the cruise terminal and the hotel. You will find a very friendly and helpful staff. Public transportation and tour center just steps away.” – December 2014

“We wanted to stay in Hotels with character and this really fits the bill. It is great setting in The Rocks, across the road from Circular Quay and walking to the Opera House, the Botanic gardens etc. Step out side the front door and look along George Street for a stunning view of the Bridge.” – November 2014

“Perfect location. A couple of minutes walk to the famous Rocks markets. The contemporary art museum is across the road and a short walk via Circular Quay takes you to the magnificent Sydney Opera House. Great boutique hotel with lots of personality. Excellent service. Would definitely stay here again.” – November 2014

“Love this hotel as it feels very homey with cute & comfortable rooms. The staff are friendly & accommodating. I live 2 hours out of Sydney & I can definitively say that I will stay here again if I need to stay in town. The location is excellent!!” – November 2014

“If you are looking for a place with the perfect location to stay in Sydney. This is the place.” – November 2014

“If you want easy access to shopping on George St, the Opera House, waterfront tours and ferries at a reasonable price, the Russell Hotel is the place to stay.” – October 2014

“My husand and I stayed here for two nights as a pit stop during our trip. It was a perfect location with easy access to trains, ferries and tourist locations. The bar was lovely and the food incredible. Staff were very friendly and happy to assist with whatever we needed. The rooftop garden was a beautiful vantage point. Will definitely stay again.” – October 2014

“Gorgeous old fashioned, full of character features. Our room had a beautiful fireplace, great big windows looking out onto the main road, though was not at all noisy, as had double glazed internal detachable windows.”  – October 2014

“What a lovely place to stay so convenient to the Rocks and Circular Quay, rooms decorated lovely with a very comfy bed. The receptionist was very helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was a winner as well. The chocolates on our bed at night was a nice touch.” – October 2014

“What a great location! We enjoyed the welcome, and our twin room was spacious and comfortable, with a view of the street and Quay. Breakfast was included in our tariff, which added to the great value. I couldn’t believe how quiet it was in the room, considering the busy atmosphere in the bar below us. We will definitely stay at The Russell when next we visit Sydney.”  – October 2014

“I am very happy with my choice of room (#20), which was quiet and had an open-air patio towards the back/inside the building. The cleanliness is meticulous, both in the corridors and the room itself. The staff managed to make me feel at home. There is a small roof-top garden, and a cozy lounge. All-in-all a true boutique hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, personal and warm. There is hardly any better location for a hotel for access to the Circular Wharf and The Rocks.” – September 2014
