Vivid Sydney is a 23-day festival of light, music and ideas that will run from 24 May to 15 June 2019. Vivid Sydney features many of the world’s most important creative industry forums, a mesmerising free public exhibition of outdoor lighting sculptures and installations and a cutting-edge contemporary music program. Vivid Sydney is where art, technology and commerce intersect.

The Art Gallery of NSW is free to enter and is perfect to explore on a cold winters day. Housing incredible collections and welcoming over 1 million visitors a year! Entry is free to the general exhibitions, however some specific exhibitions and special events within the museum may have an additional cost.

The Art Gallery of NSW is conveniently located next to the Royal Botanic Gardens. It is known for its world-class collection of Aboriginal, Asian, European and contemporary art installations. Make sure to plan your trip for a Wednesday – the entire Gallery stays open for Art After Hours. Enjoy free talks and films along with access to all of their year-round exhibits after closing hours. Bondi Feast

Bondi Feast is 10 nights of arty business, a pop-up fringe-style winter festival, celebrating the best in comedy, theatre, music, storytelling, arts and hot foods, all washed down with some mulled cider, showcasing over 200 artists in 40+ shows across 10 nights from 9-20 July 2019.

Bastille Festival

Roar and Snore at Taronga Zoo

Situated on spectacular Sydney Harbour, Taronga Zoo is an experience not to be missed. Located just 12 minutes from the city by ferry, Taronga Zoo offers up to 20 free keeper talks and animal shows throughout the day. The Sky Safari cable car connects the ferry to the main entrance.

Roar and snore is a long-running overnight experience offered by Taronga Zoo. It lets you bunker down after the zoo shuts its gates and stay in luxurious tents until morning. You’ll get to meet all the critters such as lions, tigers, snow leopards and a sun bear as well as dine at the zoo’s restaurant. The next morning you will be served a delicious brekkie before being able to feed a giraffe, pat a seal and sunbake with an echidna.
